My Graze.com Review (Or, How I Stopped Worrying and Learned to Love the Healthy Snack)

Graze.com

When you’ve been partly raised by a southern grandmother, you take on a skewed sense of healthy food.

Creamed corn and pumpkin pie… those count as vegetables, right? NO?! What about cornbread? Surely that is a health, nutrient-filled vegetable dish.

Yeah, my metabolism and my butter-obsessed brain are constantly having that conversation. It’s not pretty.

Having completely and utterly failed every diet/healthy eating attempt I have ever half-heartedly adopted, I thought it was time to try something new. And, preferably, easy. When I learned about Graze.com, I loved the idea of getting a few healthy treats sent every other week, which I could keep with me instead of indulging on S’mores Blizzards and cookie sandwiches from Taco Bell. (But seriously, those S’mores Blizzards are TDF. I love you, Dairy Queen, you evil genius you.) Ahem. Right. Healthy. Anyway, Graze.com offered healthy little treats that they would deliver right to my office, which was even better because it eliminated the problem of thinking ahead and packing them to take to work. And for $5.00 per box and no cancellation fees, the price was right.

Like most subscription box websites, this one allows you to customize your preferences so that you don’t end up with something you hate. The boxes arrive quickly and promptly, and come with four servings of random snacks (mostly comprised of fruits, nuts, and oats) which are individually wrapped. Once you try them, you can go back to the website and rate them to further customize your preferences.

Because this is literally shipped to my office door, and often arrives at about the time I want a snack, I have a high success rate of reaching for one of these instead of something more processed and fat-filled. And, to be honest, the snacks are really quite good! I’ve gotten a few things with raisins in them (which I did not enjoy) and I generally give the all-nut packages to my husband (who loves them) but otherwise, everything has been a winner. My favorites so far are the fruit and seed flapjacks, pear tatin, and the salsa fresca with cheesy sombreros. Because, seriously. Cheesy sombreros.

All in all, this is just cheap and no-maintenance enough for me to stick with it. Happily, even. There are other fitness and health food boxes available, but I haven’t seen any with such reasonable prices or appetizing little snacks.

Are any of you a member of Graze? Or do you have any other subscription boxes you’re currently loving?
